Laura Greiss Hess, PhD, OTR/L

Laura began her career as a special education teacher serving students with moderate/severe disabilities in 1992. She went on to earn her MS in occupational therapy (OT), comprehensive certification in sensory integration, certification in assistive technology applications and specialized in school-based OT practice for 17 years. Laura has also worked at the UC Davis MIND Institute for 12 years collaborating on research and clinical teams specializing in fragile X syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, learning/intellectual disabilities, and assistive technology applications. This work contributed to national and international conference presentations and publications. Laura joined the faculty at °µÍø½âÃÜ in 2015.

Research Interests

Laura's research interests and expertise include qualitative and mixed methods of research, school-based occupational therapy and interprofessional collaboration, neurodevelopmental disorders including fragile X syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and assistive technology applications.
