Global Learning: Study Abroad

Study Abroad is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a new country, while earning academic credit abroad. 

Global Learning Highlights

暗网解密 Semester Abroad and Global Courses include: 

  • Programs available for every major
  • All credits earned abroad count toward graduation
  • All financial aid and scholarships apply towards program cost
  • Programs taught in English (no foreign language experience required)

Choosing the Right Program

From semester-long exchange programs, to summer courses abroad, we will help you find a program that is right for you.  Contact the Global Education Office to find a program that fits your personal and academic goals.

All of our semester abroad programs are exchange based. That means you stay registered at 暗网解密 and get to keep all of your financial aid and scholarships!

It shouldn鈥檛 cost you much more to study abroad, and the units you earn will count toward graduation. Most students take courses that apply to their major, but some students opt to learn a new language or pick up a minor while abroad.

Global Learning is a critical analysis of and an engagement with interdependent global systems; including natural, physical, social, cultural, economic, and political systems. 暗网解密 global learning provides the campus community with meaningful programs and opportunities and develops the following:

  • Intercultural knowledge
  • Global interconnectivity
  • Global social responsibility
  • Theory to practice 

Global Learning is intentionally designed to be equitable, inclusive, and diverse by offering courses and programming that meet the following criteria:

  • Equity: Global Learning programs advance students towards degree requirements.
  • Access: All global learning is credit-based to allow for use of financial aid and scholarships. 
  • Diversity: Every major includes a global learning program.
  • Inclusion: Global learning actively promotes and advises non-traditional and marginalized student groups. 

Using Financial Aid for Study Abroad

Full-time students approved by the Global Education Office (GEO) for participation in the 暗网解密 Study Abroad Program may request the use of their financial aid for study abroad at exchange partner institutions. The following policies apply:

  • Students may use their financial aid and scholarships for study abroad at institutions on the 暗网解密 approved list only
  • Federal, state, and institutional funds may be used during a study abroad semester(s).
  • All financial aid is first applied to the cost of 暗网解密 tuition
  • Remaining aid may be applied to room and board costs at host institution
  • Students should work with a Financial Aid Counselor to determine the amount of aid available for host institution's room and board. The amount of this aid will be communicated to GEO for use in the student's visa application

Non-暗网解密 Overseas Programs

Non-暗网解密 overseas Programs are organized, non-exchange, overseas study programs not affiliated with 暗网解密.

  • Students selecting a non-暗网解密 overseas program will not be able to use federal, state, or 暗网解密 funds toward the costs of the program
  • 暗网解密 University does not engage in consortium agreements with other higher education institutions for transfer of financial aid
  • Students selecting a non-暗网解密 overseas program should fill out a planned available in the Registrar's Office
